
Sophie Harasha is a Seattle and New York-based filmmaker who is specialized in producing, cinematography, and directing. Passionate about storytelling and film, she seeks to tell stories that are personal to her and connect with others. She is a junior at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts majoring in film production. At NYU, she is a film chair of the All Asian Arts Alliance, member of Delta Kappa Alpha’s Cinematic Society, and plays for the NYU woman’s lacrosse team.
As a filmmaker, she’s had films premiere at festivals such as NFFTY, Seattle International Film Festival, and Newport Beach Film Festival. Through her work in narrative, documentary, experimental, and mixed-media filmmaking, she strives to create empathy and connection through understand others and believes film is the perfect medium to do so.
