Sophie Harasha is a Seattle and New York-based filmmaker specializing in producing, cinematography, and directing. Passionate about storytelling and film, she seeks to tell stories that are personal to her and connect with others. She is a junior at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts majoring in film production. At NYU, she is a film chair of the All Asian Arts Alliance, member of Delta Kappa Alpha’s Cinematic Society, and plays for the NYU woman’s lacrosse team. 

As a filmmaker, she’s had films premiere at festivals such as NFFTY, Seattle International Film Festival, and Newport Beach Film Festival. Through her work in narrative, documentary, experimental, and mixed-media filmmaking, she strives to create empathy and connection through understanding others and believes film is the perfect medium to do so.
